Skeleton Out Of Date

 

After upgrading and opening a report, you may get this error message:  A conversion file contains invalid information…” Followed by, “The Report skeleton being used is old and should be resaved to improve performance.” Or you may need to update your custom skeleton after an upgrade. In which case, skip to step 2.

1.       If the report was created from a default skeleton,

a)      Open the report,

b)      Click FILE – SAVE AS

c)      Give it the same name as the old report

d)      Click OK and overwrite it.

2.       If it was created from a custom skeleton,

a)      Close the report.

b)      Open a brand new report based on our default skeleton for that form type (e.g., UAR_3x5).

c)      Click FILE – IMPORT – BROWSE

i)                    In the right hand column under Directories, double click on the two dots [..]

(1)    Double click on SKELS

(2)    Double click on the form type.  For example, for a UAR you would double click on the [ua2skel] directory.

ii)                   In the left hand column under Files, double click on your custom skeleton

iii)                 Click SELECT ALL

iv)                 Click OK.  This will import the text from your custom skeleton.  Unfortunately, you will lose its formatting.

v)                  Manually reapply the formatting of your custom skeleton.

vi)                 Click FILE – SAVE SKEL

vii)               Enter the name of your skeleton as you browsed it from above.

viii)              Click OK, OK

ix)                 Click YES to overwrite

d)      Close the report

e)      You can now open reports based on your updated custom skeleton.
