Inserting a map into Appraise-It version 2.2

 

1.      Open the mapping software you use and find the map you want to insert into your report.  Once you have the map up on the screen hit the Print Screen button on the keyboard, then close the program.

2.      Go to Start-Programs-Accessories-Paint.

3.      Now go to Edit and Paste.  This will have the entire screen up.

4.      Click on the box icon in the upper left corner, under the Edit option.  You should now have a cross-hair.

5.      Outline the area you want in the report, to do this, click in the upper left corner of the area you want to copy and hold the button down until you have outlined the entire area, then you can let go of the mouse.

6.      Now go to Edit and select Copy, the File and New.  It will ask you if you would like to save changes to untitled, select NO.

7.      When the clean screen comes up, go to Edit and Paste, this should be the map that you want in your report and this is the way it will appear.

8.      Go to File and Save As, change the look in to whatever directory you want to save the map in.  Once you have saved the map you can close the Paint program.

9.      Now go into the appraisal report that you want the map in and go to Contents, Mapping and Sketch Addenda and click on the map page that you would like to embed the map on, double click on the box where the image should be, then click on Browse.

10.  Now you need to find the directory you saved the map into.  To do this, double click on the double dots [..] two times and you should see all the directories on your hard drive.  Once you find the file you are looking for double click on it and you will be back at the Image Options box.

11.  Now click on OK and the image will be imbedded into the report.
